Sulphur Springs...
...takes its name from the mineral waters that once brought visitors from near and far. The springs have recently been rediscovered, but much more now brings tens of thousands every year. That includes the eclectic mix of shops and boutiques around the downtown square, containing everything from antiques to European imports to native art pieces. Others come to view the one of a kind Southwest Dairy Museum, while many wonder at the St. Clair Music Box Collection, one of the largest in the world.
March brings the UPRA's first rodeo of the year and Spring Fever Bike Race, followed in May by the Folk Festival and North East Texas Choral Society concerts. June welcomes the week long Dairy Festival, featuring hot air balloons and the Texas Championship Ice Cream Freeze Off. Saturday before July 4th sees a patriotic concert and dazzling fireworks display downtown.
September is the time for Indian Summer Days and the week long Fall Festival, while a car show is held in October. The winter holidays start in November with "Christmas in the Park" commemorating the sights, sounds and scents that bring back memories of happy holidays past. December brings a parade and Christmas Festival on the Square, capped off by a choral concert of holiday music. Life is good in Sulphur Springs — come and see!
