MARSHALL ...

...is home of “Texas’ most beautiful square at Christmastime,” as named by a leading Texas based magazine. The grand 1901 Harrison County Courthouse is ablaze with over 250,000 lights during “Wonderland of Lights” held each year during the Thanksgiving Christmas holiday season.

During other seasons Marshall’s picturesque square hosts fun festivals and events along its brick streets. Radiating north from the square are charming shops and restaurants that make visiting Marshall throughout the year a special experience.

Marshall’s museums add to the experience. The Michelson Museum of Art was named by Texas Monthly as the best small museum in Texas. The Harrison County Historical Museum will reopen soon with exciting new exhibits featuring the community’s rich history. The Texas and Pacific Railway Museum, housed in the restored 1912 depot, tells the story of the T & P operations which brought an enormous influx of new settlers and railroad employees to Marshall beginning in 1871. The railroad’s many skilled craftsmen and artisans built fine public and private rail cars and used those same talents to build Marshall’s fine historic homes and outstanding commercial buildings in downtown.

From internationally known Josey’s Junior World Barrel Race Championship to its unique entertainment events, Marshall continues to attract visitors drawn by its charm, authenticity, and picturesque setting.
