Jacksonville is home of the World’s Largest Bowl of Salsa, earning this title during the 2010 Annual Tomato Fest. Over 100 volunteers made 2,672 lbs. of salsa.  Tomato Fest is held the second Saturday in June, with a variety of tomato events.  Other community events include Western Week Activities (May), July 4th Fireworks on Lake Jacksonville, Harvest Fest in September, Motorcycle Rally and Bull Bash in the fall.

Jacksonville …also known as Mudville has two ATV Parks (Mud Creek Off Road Park and River Run ATV Park).   In March, Mud Creek is home to the annual Mud Nationals in March, bringing over 11,000 visitors as well as several other ATV events throughout the year.  River Run recently expanded their property adding several special muddy events.  River Run handles the annual Mud Stock in October bringing over 5,000 mud fans.

One of East Texas’ most breathtaking views, Love’s Lookout, is one of the most awesome views in the area. Local volunteers welcome visitors with some of the most colorful and interesting conversation to be found.

This welcoming town is centrally located to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston areas making it convenient for a ‘weekend escape’.  Jacksonville offers a variety of outdoor activities, antique shops, specialty boutiques, dining and several Bed and Breakfasts that combine to make Jacksonville a ‘Relaxville’.
